The community of Sunalta is located at the edge of the downtown core in Calgary’s southwest quadrant. The area was annexed by the City of Calgary in 1907 and development in the area began in 1910. The boundaries of the community are the Bow River to the north, 14 Street to the east, 12 Avenue and 17 Avenue to the south, and 17 Street, 14 Avenue, and 16 Street to the west.
